TUSCANY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER × BASED IN FLORENCE, ITALY

EDITORIAL × RELAXED × EFFORTLESS × LAID-BACK × LUXURY × EXCLUSIVE × MODERN × TIMELESS

Hey folks!

Today I want to take you to a place that literally feels like it’s floating between a dream and reality. I’m talking about Isola del Garda, a private paradise right in the heart of Lake Garda. Even if I mainly work in Tuscany, I often cross Italy to shoot weddings in different regions and areas, as happened for this beautiful wedding on the shores of Lake Garda. If you’ve ever imagined your wedding on a secluded island, surrounded by crystal-blue waters and a stunning Venetian Neo-Gothic villa, well… this is it.

Traveling from the rolling hills of Tuscany to the dramatic shores of the northern lakes is always an adventure that fills my eyes with new beauty. There’s something about the light on the lake that is completely different from the golden hues of the Orcia Valley. It’s more crisp, silver, and incredibly romantic, especially when you’re standing in front of a masterpiece like the villa on the island.

A bridge between two worlds

As a wedding photographer, I see many beautiful stories, but the one of C and D at Isola del Garda was truly special. They wanted Italy to be the trait d’union for their families, a perfect middle ground between the bride’s Asian heritage and the groom’s German roots. It was so inspiring to see these two cultures blending together in such a harmonious way… it’s the power of love and, of course, the power of a destination wedding.

They brought about 60 guests with them to share this experience, which started in the most elegant way at the Hotel Bellariva. I spent the morning capturing the getting ready moments, the excitement in the air, and those small, nervous smiles that I love so much. From there, the real magic began… everyone moved by boat towards the island. There is really no better way to start a ceremony than a boat ride on Lake Garda. Seeing the villa slowly appearing from the water, with its intricate arches and lush gardens, is always a moment that leaves everyone breathless… including me, even if I’ve seen it many times before.

A bit of history and soul

What I love most about working as an Isola del Garda Wedding Photographer is that it doesn’t feel like a “venue”, but like a home with a deep soul. Its history goes way back, and you can almost feel the layers of time as you walk through the paths. Even St. Francis of Assisi founded a small community here in the 1200s, seeking the same peace we feel today. It’s a place that has hosted monks, nobles, and artists, all drawn by the same magnetic beauty.

The villa we see now is the work of the Cavazza family, who still lives there and takes care of the incredible gardens with so much passion. You can really feel that personal touch in every corner… from the exotic plants to the family photos inside. It makes everything feel much more intimate and real, which is exactly what a wedding should be. For C and D, it wasn’t just about the “wow” factor, but about finding a place that had a story to tell, just like their own.

Sunset at Villa Fiordaliso

After a moving ceremony in the open-air loggia and some portraits around the island’s hidden corners, we all hopped back on the boats. The wind was gentle, the sun was starting to dip, and you could feel the relief and joy of the guests as we headed towards Villa Fiordaliso for the reception.

Villa Fiordaliso is a stunning historic spot right on the water, known for its elegance and that typical Italian charm that never goes out of style. It was the perfect setting for a relaxed, sophisticated dinner. The light at that time of day was just beautiful, filtering through the ancient trees and reflecting on the lake while everyone laughed, toasted, and celebrated this beautiful mix of cultures. As a photographer, this “golden hour” on the lake is a gift… it paints everything in soft, ethereal tones that make every smile look even more genuine.

It was one of those days that reminds me why I love my job so much. Being there to capture these genuine, timeless moments… seeing two families from different parts of the world becoming one… it’s a real privilege. I’ll leave you with the photos now, they probably say more than my words ever could. I hope they make you feel even just a bit of the magic we experienced that day.

Love, Fra
