La Foce Wedding Photographer: Capturing authenticity in Val d’Orcia
If you are planning your wedding in Tuscany, you probably already know that La Foce is something special. It is not just about the famous zigzag road lined with cypresses, even though that view is a classic for a reason. For me, working as a wedding photographer at La Foce is about the atmosphere of the entire estate. Every time I drive up the hills of the Val d’Orcia to get there, I feel a different kind of energy. It is a place where history and nature sit perfectly together, but in a way that feels lived-in and real, not like a museum.
What makes this venue incredible for photography is the sheer variety of the surroundings. I have spent a lot of time exploring the grounds, and I can tell you there are literally dozens of awesome corners where to create some outstanding shots. You have the formal Italian gardens designed by Cecil Pinsent, which are great for those elegant, structured portraits. But then, just a few steps away, you find wilder paths, hidden stone benches, and olive groves that offer a completely different, more relaxed vibe.
A playground for light and shadows
As a photographer, I am always chasing the right light. In this stunning venue, the way the sun moves across the valley is a gift. During the golden hour, the clay hills of the Crete Senesi in the distance turn a shade of orange that you won’t find anywhere else in Italy. I love using those moments to capture the quiet, unscripted bits of the day. Whether it is a walk through the boxwood hedges or a private moment under the wisteria, the architecture and the greenery provide a natural frame that makes every shot feel intentional but effortless. My approach is documentary at its core, but with a modern and creative edge. I like to move around the estate and use those various corners to tell a complete story. I am not interested in forced poses. I prefer to let you enjoy the space while I look for the right angle, the right shadow, or that specific reflection in the garden fountains.
A personal, dedicated service
To capture a place this unique, I believe you need a dedicated, personal approach. I choose to keep my studio small and artisanal so I can focus entirely on your story. This means you will have me, Francesco, involved in every step. I don’t outsource the shooting or the editing to anyone else. I personally handle the photography on the day and the color-grading of every single frame afterwards. By taking on only a limited number of commissions each year, I can ensure that the quality of my work and the attention I give to your wedding at La Foce are never compromised.
