This Timeless wedding in Florence is the first wedding I’m posting on my blog since this season has begun (if we do not consider the Elopement I shot in Venice in March). I photographed this event at the end of May and I understood immediately I was taking part in something special. An incredible amount of emotions, tears, joy, smiles filled the whole day. I will never thank you enough Ashley and Nick for letting me be part of all of these emotions, without interposing any filter between their feelings and me. If – going through these photos – you can feel what I felt being there, is just because they didn’t hide anything from the discrete eye of my cameras.
What we play, as photographers, is a very hard task. Hard and amazing at the same time. We must be so close we can smell your tears, but far enough you didn’t feel us as intruders. We must move carefully, trying to never pass the thin line that separates clients from vendors, however taking advantage of the closeness to build a slight connection. This permits us to be there – on the front row – being witnesses and builders of your visual inheritance that will last in the years to come. Wonderful, but challenging sometimes.
Coming back to the wedding, don’t lose the gorgeousness of Ash’s room, where she got ready with her friends. This is the “King Suite” of a beautifully preserved palace located in front of Palazzo Pitti (the ancient Mansion of the Medici Family), called Piazza Pitti Palace. And – of course – enjoy the amazing Castello di Vincigliata (a magnificent castle in the immediate surrounding of Florence), where the whole wedding took place. The outdoor wedding ceremony has been celebrated on the terrace overlooking the typical Tuscan countryside, while the wedding dinner and the party have been held in the Castle Courtside. A lot of thanks go to Simona, that carefully planned the event, and Alessandro, that helped me as the second shooter!
My biggest hug is for Ash&Nick. You guys made me (and my work) felt special, for a bunch of reasons. I really hope your life together will shine forever. Fra
