A Tuscany Wedding
Photographer Who
Grew Up Here
I’m Francesco. I grew up in Florence, in the very heart of Tuscany, and I’ve spent a lifetime breathing in the art and soul of this region. Strolling its tiny medieval alleys, absorbing the customs that vary subtly from province to province, and learning – instinctively – how the light behaves across its landscapes in every season.
If you’re dreaming of a destination wedding in Tuscany, you’ve probably already sensed that this place is about more than iconic cypress trees and golden light. It’s about a certain rhythm of life: slow, elegant, deeply authentic, and true to itself. My mission is to ensure your photography reflects exactly that: a celebration that feels as effortless as a Tuscan sunset.
As a Florence-based photographer, I know where the light hits the Chianti vineyards at 8 PM in July. I know which hidden corners of the Val d’Orcia offer genuine intimacy away from the crowds. I know the mountains and the seaside. Being local means more than knowing the roads – it means understanding the secret language of this region, and translating it into images that are entirely yours.
Editorial, Unposed
Destination Wedding
Photography in Tuscany
My approach is far from the world of stiff, traditional poses. I work as a natural vibe seeker, documenting the honest essence of your story with a contemporary, editorial eye. Whether you’re planning a grand celebration in a Florentine Medici villa, an intimate gathering in a Chianti farmhouse, or an elegant ceremony in a medieval Tuscan castle, the goal is always the same: to make you forget the camera is even there.
Not by disappearing, but by having fun together and creating the visual legacy you dreamed of for months. I want you to look back at your images and feel the warmth of the day, the soft nostalgia of the moment, and those tiny gestures that encapsulate what it meant to be there. A celebration that was truly yours, documented with an authentic eye and a laid-back energy that lets real moments breathe.
Always with your experience – and your guests’ – at the centre, before my own creative vision. Because the photographs matter deeply, but how you live the day matters more.
I’ve been photographing destination weddings across Tuscany since 2013. I’m fluent in English, deeply connected with trusted local vendors, and committed to making the whole process – from first contact to final gallery- smooth, personal, and pressure-free. The reviews from hundreds of international couples speak for themselves.
Why Choose Tuscany
for Your Destination Wedding?
With its Renaissance cities, UNESCO-protected landscapes, world-class wines, and a density of extraordinary venues found nowhere else in Europe, Tuscany has become the world’s most sought-after destination wedding location – and for good reason. It’s not just a backdrop. It becomes part of your story.
The Light
Tuscany’s light is unlike anywhere else in Europe. In summer, golden hour arrives slowly, lingers longer, and floods the landscape with warmth that transforms every frame. In spring and autumn, soft diffused light wraps across rolling hills in a way that is a photographer’s dream. Every season offers something extraordinary.
The Venues
Centuries-old villas, Rosewood and Relais & Châteaux estates, medieval castles, Renaissance wine estates, and intimate agriturismi. Tuscany has a venue for every vision: from grand and cinematic celebrations with hundreds of guests to intimate elopements for two. No other region in Italy offers this depth of choice
The Experience
A destination wedding in Tuscany is an immersive cultural experience, for you and for your guests. World-class Brunello and Chianti wines, exceptional cuisine rooted in centuries of tradition, and a pace of celebration that feels both ancient and entirely modern. Your guests will still be talking about it years later.
Tuscany Wedding Venues
I’ve Photographed
Over more than a decade documenting weddings across Tuscany, I’ve built an intimate knowledge of the region’s most exceptional venues: their light, their vibes, their rhythm, their hidden corners.
What makes Tuscany genuinely extraordinary is its range. This is a region that can host a grand, multi-day celebration for two hundred guests in a Rosewood estate, and in the same valley offer a secluded farmhouse tucked away in the hills, where twelve people gather around a long table and time takes the Tuscan rhythm. From Medici villas to Renaissance castles, from medieval borghi to neoclassical residences, every aesthetic, every scale, every vision of what a wedding should feel like is here, waiting.
And not just a place: the right place, where the setting doesn’t compete with your day but quietly becomes part of it.
Below are ten of my favorite properties where I regularly work, and a link to ten more. If none of these feel quite right, reach out: Tuscany has hundreds of extraordinary venues, and finding the one that’s truly yours is exactly the kind of conversation I love having.
VAL D’ORCIA
La Foce
One of the most iconic estates in Italy, with its famous Italianate gardens, facing the famous cypress-lined avenue and sweeping views across UNESCO-protected hills. La Foce offers a grandeur that is almost impossible to photograph badly, and an intimacy that surprises every time.
VAL D’ORCIA – Montalcino
Castiglion del Bosco
A Rosewood estate of rare distinction, a medieval borgo reimagined as one of Italy’s finest luxury retreats, surrounded by Brunello vineyards and the vast, silent landscape of the Val d’Orcia. Every corner of this property tells a story, from the golf course to the incredible private vineyard.
Siena
Villa Cetinale
A 17th-century Baroque villa near Siena, with symmetrical gardens, monumental cypress avenues, and an atmosphere of profound aristocratic stillness. One of the most private and visually powerful wedding venues in all of Tuscany, with its iconic ceremony spot.
CHIANTI
Borgo di Vignamaggio
A Renaissance wine estate in the heart of Chianti Classico -terraced vineyards, formal Italian gardens, and a 15th-century villa that carries centuries of history with quiet elegance. Recently renovated, it’s one of the most photogenic properties in all of Tuscany.
Chianti – Siena
Borgo San Felice
A Relais & Châteaux property of effortless charm – a beautifully restored ancient Tuscan hamlet surrounded by vineyards and olive groves in the heart of Chianti Classico. Stone lanes, terracotta roofs, a private small church and light that wraps everything in warmth.
Florentine Hills
Villa di Maiano
A historic Florentine villa set in the green hills of Fiesole – Renaissance architecture, structured gardens, a beautiful Lemon House to host your night party, and panoramic views over the city below. One of the Florentine hills’ most beautiful and storied wedding estates.
Florence
Villa Cora
A 5-star neoclassical residence in the immediate Florentine hills. Grand frescoed interiors, terraced gardens cascading toward the city below, a sweeping view over Florence, and the quiet prestige of an address that has welcomed European royalty since the 19th century. Florence’s most distinguished luxury wedding venue.
Siena – Monterigigoni
Borgo Stomennano
A beautifully preserved medieval hamlet near Siena, intimate and deeply evocative, feeling entirely out of time. There are no crowds here, no compromises with the modern world. Just a place that has remained, exactly as it always was. A venue for couples who want something genuinely off the beaten path.
a Val d’Orcia
Monteverdi Tuscany
A design-led retreat above the Val d’Orcia, a boutique hotel woven into the historic borgo of Castiglioncello del Trinoro. Contemporary vision of Tuscany for couples wanting something different from the classic aesthetic, with curated interiors and expansive views over the landscape, a mood entirely its own.
Florence
Villa Le Fontanelle
An exquisite 15th-century villa in the Florentine hills, with breathtaking panoramas over the city, minutes from my studio. One of the city’s most refined wedding venues, the property retains a quality of contemplative beauty: a tower, ancient woodland, terraced gardens, and a tiny private chapel.
